20 days Incredible Adventure in South West Tsingy de Bemaraha

DAY 1: ARRIVAL FLIGHT -ANTANANARIVO

At the airport, after completing the visa formalities, our representative will be there to welcome you with a sign bearing your name. It will take you to your hotel. Depending on the duration and time of your arrival, you might already enjoy the life of the inhabitants of the capital.

DAY 2: ANTANANARIVO – ANTSIRABE

Departure for Antsirabe. On the road, you can admire from afar the rice terraces and tombs of the high land of Madagascar. Our destination is Behenjy for lunch. Stop to visit a craft aluminum pot factory in Ambatolampy and explore the city. As soon as we arrive in Antsirabe in the afternoon, we will be able to discover the city of water and visit some workshops specialized in artisanal manufacturing.

DAY 3: ANTSIRABE – MORONDAVA

Leave the hotel early in the morning to get to Morondava. To the west of Madagascar, you can admire the first alley of baobabs and a typical landscape with rice fields. Arriving in Morondava, we made a guided tour of the city and the beach. This is the long-awaited moment for this Avenue des Baobabs course.

DAY 4. MORONDAVA – BEKOPAKA

Departure in the morning by 4X4 car to go to Bekopaka. Transfer by ferry to Belo sur Tsiribihina, then continuation to Bekopaka. Arrival at the hotel in the late afternoon

DAY 5: BEKOPAKA

The visit of the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park is planned for this day. It is essential to mention that this park is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At dawn, we go to Tsingy for a visit of at least 4 hours to contemplate and admire the great Tsingy. In the afternoon, a visit is scheduled from 1h to 1h30 to explore the Petit Tsingy.

DAY 6: BEKOPAKA – MORONDAVA

The departure is scheduled early in the morning to return to Belo on Tsiribihina. Then transfer by ferry to Tsimafana, then we follow a dirt track to Morondava. Arriving in Morondava in the late afternoon, we can admire the sunset on the famous avenue of baobabs.

DAY 7: MORONDAVA – BELO SUR MER

We continue our journey on the wet road, with an unforgettable landscape. Upon arrival in Belo-sur-Mer, we will have the opportunity to discover the village and enjoy the beach of Belo-sur-Mer.

DAY 8: BELO SUR MER – MOROMBE

We continue our journey towards Morombe. On the way we will see a beautiful landscape with baobabs alley. We will have the opportunity to cross Mangoky, the longest river in Madagascar, and go to Bevoay. Later in the day we will arrive at the Mozambique Channel, at Morombe beach.

DAY 9: MOROMBE – SALARY

After having our breakfast, we will continue our journey on the coastal track of the zebra wagons. We will travel through a thorny jungle where we will discover many trees endemic to the island.

We continue our exploration through the sand dunes of the southern coast of Madagascar. During this trip, we will discover the Mozambique Canal and the fishing villages.

DAY 13: IFATY – TULEAR – RANOHIRA

We will leave the south of the big island. During our journey, we will have contemplated other species of trees in these baobab forests and in this arid landscape of the south, with the famous Mahafaly tombs.

DAY 14: RANOHIRA

By car, we head to Isalo National Park. Enjoy a day to explore the flora and fauna of the park, while bathing in the natural pool, the black and blue pool. The park is also famous for its canyon. The famous ‘Isalo Window’ in the late afternoon offers us the chance to see the sunset.

DAY 15: RANOHIRA – FIANARANTSOA

Leave Ranohira at sunrise. The Anja Reserve in Ambalavao offers stunning views of Madagascar’s famous Maki Catta lemur. Then we go to the Antemoro paper-making workshop in Ambalavao, where we learn how to weave silk. In the late afternoon we arrive at the capital Betsileo.

DAY 16: FIANARANTSOA – RANOMAFANA

We leave for the village of Ranomafana. Discover the Ranomafana National Park on a 3 to 4-hour tour to observe the lemurs, several species of fauna and flora endemic to this part of Madagascar. In the afternoon we could go to the village and enjoy swimming in the thermal water of Ranomafana.

DAY 17: RANOMAFANA – ANTSIRABE

Departure towards Antsirabe. On the way, we can contemplate the landscape with its typical architecture of the Betsileo ethnic group and its rice fields. Once arrived in Ambositra, we will make a visit to some craft shops. Ambositra is famous for handicrafts and Malagasy wood carving. Afterwards, we will continue our journey to Antsirabe, to discover Antsirabe Avenue by rickshaw.

DAY 18: ANTSIRABE – ANTANANARIVO

Back to the Malagasy capital. We will have the opportunity to visit the craft market, the largest market in town and the historical sites of Antananarivo, to discover the history of the Malagasy kingdom.

DAY 19: ANTANANARIVO – RETURN FLIGHT

Transfer to Ivato airport to board the international flight.
